Mason Greenwood equalized for Fenerbahçe against Olympique Lyonnais (1-1) on Tuesday evening, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff.
Lyon had opened the scoring in the 40th minute through Loïs Openda, but the former Olympique de Marseille player was not long in responding right after the restart. Greenwood got the better of Abner to position himself on his left foot before firing a precise and powerful strike past goalkeeper Dominik Greif.
A marquee signing for Fenerbahçe during the last summer transfer window, the English international is confirming his status as a major offensive asset for the Turkish club in this two-legged European tie against the Rhône side.
