Ian Machado Garry has signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Talent Agency in a commercial and marketing deal, the Irish welterweight announced on Wednesday via Instagram, weeks out from his UFC welterweight title challenge against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 in Philadelphia in August.

Unlike Tom Aspinall, who signed with Hearn to represent him across all areas of his career, Garry’s arrangement is limited to commercial interests. Vayner Sports remains his management company and will continue to handle contract negotiations and fight talks with the UFC.

“Congratulations Matchroom Talent Agency you’ve signed the future,” Garry wrote on Instagram. “I’m excited to announce Team Future just got bigger. Alongside Vayner Sports, I’ll be joining The Matchroom Talent Agency — who will now work across my commercial interests.”

The signing places Garry alongside Aspinall on Hearn’s growing roster of combat sports talent. Aspinall, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, signed with Hearn while recovering from a serious eye injury sustained against Ciryl Gane that required four surgeries. Hearn has since been vocal about Aspinall’s pay and has publicly called for the Briton’s release from the UFC.

That backdrop has intensified an already bitter feud between Hearn and UFC CEO Dana White, which ignited after White launched Zuffa Boxing in early 2026. The two former allies have traded sharp words in interviews and public appearances in the months since, and White has been openly dismissive of Aspinall’s decision to align with Hearn.

For Garry, the commercial partnership arrives at a pivotal moment in his career. The 27-year-old unbeaten Dubliner will compete for the welterweight title for the first time when he faces pound-for-pound standout Makhachev in Philadelphia, a fight that represents the biggest test of his professional career.
