Free-agent Sancho in talks with two Premier League clubs as Dortmund return also circles

Jadon Sancho’s search for a new club is gathering pace, with the 26-year-old free agent said to be in talks with at least two Premier League sides and Borussia Dortmund also considering a renewed approach, according to reports from TEAMtalk and German outlet Bild.

Sancho left Manchester United when his contract expired in the summer, ending a five-year stay at Old Trafford that never delivered on its promise. United paid £73 million to sign him from Dortmund in 2021, but he managed only 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances across all competitions — a return that left the club with no appetite to extend his deal.

His time in Manchester was further complicated by two loan spells that failed to spark a revival. Chelsea, who held an obligation to buy Sancho, instead paid a £5 million penalty to send him back to United rather than complete the purchase. A subsequent loan at Aston Villa also ended without a permanent offer.

Dortmund, where Sancho made 158 appearances across two spells and first established his reputation, have re-entered the picture following a cruciate ligament injury to Giannis Konstantelias. Bild reports that Sancho would be willing to forgo a signing bonus and accept a heavily performance-based contract, and that a return “could be on the cards” given he would arrive without a transfer fee.

Beyond England and Germany, clubs in Turkey, the Saudi Pro League and the UAE are also said to be exploring deals for the winger. Sancho has additionally been offered a move to Arabian Falcons, the Dubai-based side managed by former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

The two Premier League clubs in discussions have not been named in the reports, and no deal with any party has yet been confirmed.
