Four-fight skid puts Vera's UFC future on the line against rising Jourdain at UFC 331
Marlon Vera, on a four-fight losing streak since his failed title bid against Sean O'Malley, faces Charles Jourdain at UFC 331 on September 19. Jourdain arrives on a three-fight winning run after dropping down from featherweight in 2024.
Marlon Vera faces the most precarious moment of his UFC career when he meets Charles Jourdain at UFC 331 on September 19, with the rumoured venue being Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Vera’s management, Iridium Sports Agency, confirmed the booking.
Vera (23-12) has not won since defeating Pedro Munhoz in 2023. His four-fight skid began with a championship loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 299 in 2024, and three further defeats have followed since. A fifth consecutive loss would put “Chito’s” place on the UFC roster in serious jeopardy.
Jourdain (18-8) arrives in sharply contrasting form. The Canadian moved down to bantamweight in 2024 after back-to-back losses at featherweight and has since reeled off three straight victories, two of them by guillotine choke. A win over a name as established as Vera could propel “Air” into a high-profile matchup or a top-ranked opponent in the division.
The UFC has not yet officially announced the location for UFC 331, though the numbered card is reported to be headed to Intuit Dome.
