Fonseca leaves Duranville out for OL-Fenerbahçe Champions League playoff return leg
Paulo Fonseca has deliberately excluded Belgian winger Julien Duranville from the squad for Olympique Lyonnais' Champions League playoff return leg against Fenerbahçe on Wednesday at Groupama Stadium, following the 1-1 draw in the first leg.
Paulo Fonseca has made the decision to do without Julien Duranville for the Champions League playoff return leg between Olympique Lyonnais and Fenerbahçe on Wednesday evening at Groupama Stadium (21:00). The Belgian winger is excluded from the squad for non-injury reasons: it is a deliberate choice by the Lyon manager.
OL approaches this fixture with a psychological advantage after the 1-1 draw obtained away at Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. A victory tonight would qualify the Gones for the next edition of the Champions League.
Fonseca is expected to field exactly the same eleven as in the first leg. Malick Fofana and Loïs Openda, who scored in the away match, are both present, as is Moussa Niakhaté, who was rested last weekend against Toulouse FC. Only Khalis Merah is also missing, but for medical reasons: the striker is still recovering from an ankle sprain sustained shortly after the resumption.
Probable lineups
OL: Greif — Maitland-Niles, Kluivert, Niakhaté, Abner — Tessmann, Morton, Tolisso (capt.) — Nuamah, Openda, Fofana
Fenerbahçe: Ederson — Semedo, Skriniar (capt.), Aké, Brown — Guendouzi, Kanté, Yüksek — Greenwood, Talisca, Dorgeles
