Flick displays Barcelona's ambitions ahead of PSG clash on October 20

Hansi Flick made no attempt to hide FC Barcelona’s ambitions. At a press conference on Saturday, ahead of the trip to Levante in La Liga, the German manager confirmed that the Ligue des Champions was at the top of Barcelona’s priorities for the 2026-2027 season.

“Nothing changes. Everyone wants to win the Ligue des Champions. It’s our dream,” Flick said. The message comes after Barcelona’s thunderous start in the competition: a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord Rotterdam that places the Catalan club at the top of the league phase standings, just behind PSG — winners 6-1 over Slovan Bratislava — and Bayern Munich.

But the Ligue des Champions is not the only stated objective. Flick also mentioned the race for a third consecutive La Liga title. “Winning three Spanish championships in a row would be incredible, even if the road is still long,” he said, while emphasizing the physical demands placed on his squad in a particularly packed schedule. “We are maintaining our level. Recovery is essential, as are sleep and nutrition. We have matches every three days.”

The meeting with PSG is looming. Barcelona will first travel to Istanbul to face Galatasaray on October 13, before making the trip to Parc des Princes on October 20. Having become a classic of the competition in recent years, this duel between the two clubs promises to be one of the highlights of this league phase.
