FFF preparing Hall of Fame to honour Deschamps in 2027
No tribute was organised for Didier Deschamps during France's November fixtures against Italy and Belgium, but the FFF is reportedly working on creating a Hall of Fame with an inauguration planned for 2027.
The French Football Federation will not pay tribute to Didier Deschamps during this November international break, but is considering integrating him into a future Hall of Fame whose inauguration is planned for 2027.
After fourteen years on the France bench, Deschamps stepped down following the 2026 World Cup, making way for Zinedine Zidane. His record remains exceptional: a World Cup title in 2018 and a Nations League trophy in 2021, two trophies that have permanently etched him into French football history.
The return of Les Bleus to Stade de France on Friday night against Italy, then Monday against Belgium, could have been a natural opportunity to mark his departure. The FFF ultimately decided to organise nothing during these two matches.
According to Late Football Club, a tribute to the former manager is nonetheless “in the pipeline” for 2027. The federation is reportedly working on creating a Hall of Fame designed to institutionalise recognition of players, managers and notable figures in France’s history, with an inauguration planned for next year.
