Ferrari unveils all-black race suit for Leclerc ahead of Singapore Grand Prix

Ferrari has unveiled a special-edition black race suit for Charles Leclerc, set to make its debut at the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit from 9-11 October.

The bespoke suit is almost entirely black, a sharp contrast to Ferrari’s traditional red and white livery. The team described the design as something that “embodies a night under the Singapore lights”, leaning into the race’s status as Formula 1’s only full night-time street circuit event.

Alongside the suit, Ferrari has also revealed a limited-edition cap tied to the Singapore theme, which will go on sale for fans on 5 October.

Reaction online has been mixed but largely enthusiastic. Reddit users were quick to coin the moment, with one writing “The Dark Leclerc era has arrived” and another offering a more measured take: “Nice, I mean I have no idea why they’re doing it but… nice?” Others used the reveal to float ideas of their own, with one fan suggesting Lewis Hamilton should counter with an all-white suit under the Singapore lights.

Not everyone was won over. Some fans took the opportunity to question Ferrari’s priorities — “Ferrari should focus more on the fundamentals of grand prix racing and less on special race suits and helmets” — while others flagged practical concerns about wearing a black suit during daytime practice sessions in Singapore’s heat.

On track, Leclerc heads to the final stretch of the season in fifth place in the drivers’ championship with 167 points, trailing teammate Lewis Hamilton by 24 points and sitting 125 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli. Before Singapore, the calendar takes in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from 24-26 September and the Bahrain Grand Prix from 2-4 October.
