Fenerbahçe targets Ethan Mbappé, free in June and coveted by Lille
Out of contract on 30 June with LOSC, Ethan Mbappé has reportedly been offered to Fenerbahçe by intermediary agents. The Turkish club is awaiting reports from its staff before making a move, while Lille attempts to extend the 19-year-old midfielder.
Ethan Mbappé finds himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between Lille and Fenerbahçe. The 19-year-old midfielder, whose contract with LOSC expires on 30 June, has reportedly been offered to the Istanbul club by intermediary agents, according to TransferFeed.
The profile of Kylian Mbappé’s younger brother would fit Fenerbahçe’s current recruitment criteria. Having reached their quota of foreign players, the Turkish club is now focusing on signings under 23 years old — a constraint that places Ethan Mbappé in a strong position on their list of potential targets. However, Istanbul’s management is awaiting final reports from its recruitment department and sporting director Oguz Cetin before making a concrete offer.
On Lille’s side, president Olivier Létang and his teams have no intention of letting their player slip away without a fight. Aware of the Paris-born player’s potential, the northern club’s executives are working on a contract extension. Having made a good start to the season with the Dogues, Ethan Mbappé should not lack suitors if negotiations with his academy club were to fail.
