Ethan Mbappé has been called up to the France U21 squad for the first time. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, under contract with LOSC, has been selected by manager Gérald Baticle for the upcoming Euro 2027 qualifying matches.

Unlike his brother Kylian, Ethan Mbappé has not been a regular in France’s youth teams. His first U21 call-up rewards an upturn in form at Lille, where he has enjoyed increasing playing time since the start of the season.

Beyond the former Paris player, Baticle has also called up four other new faces: goalkeeper Issiaka Touré (Aubagne), midfielders Darryl Bakola (Sassuolo) and Aladji Bamba (Newcastle), and striker Tidiam Gomis (Leipzig).

The young France side face a packed schedule with four matches in ten days. The squad will travel to Iceland on 25 September, then to Estonia on 29 September, before hosting Luxembourg on 3 October and Switzerland on 6 October in Orléans.
