Eric Trump denies DMs to Daniel Cormier asking about rigged UFC fights
Daniel Cormier posted — then deleted — screenshots purportedly showing Eric Trump asking the UFC commentator whether fights on the UFC Freedom 250 card were rigged. Eric Trump has flatly denied ever contacting Cormier, calling the images AI-generated fakes.
Daniel Cormier briefly posted screenshots on social media appearing to show Eric Trump asking the UFC commentator whether fights on Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 card at the White House were rigged — only to delete the posts shortly after. Eric Trump has since issued a flat denial, claiming the messages were AI-generated fabrications.
According to the now-deleted screenshots, the exchange began with Eric Trump asking Cormier for fight predictions and whether he was betting. Cormier reportedly replied that, as a UFC employee, he is prohibited from wagering on fights. The conversation then escalated, with Eric allegedly asking whether any fighters on the card were carrying injuries before arriving at a more direct question.
“I’ll just cut to the chase,” Eric allegedly wrote. “Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged? I’ve been eyeing the Lopes fight and I think an upset wouldn’t be too unrealistic. $$”
Cormier’s purported response was unambiguous. “No none of our fights rigged and honestly I am appalled that you would even ask me something like that,” he replied, according to the screenshots.
In the caption accompanying his post, Cormier wrote: “I’m probably going to get a lot of flak for bringing this to light, however I refuse to stay silent. The UFC is a sport that I am deeply passionate about. I will not tolerate this type of insider behavior. Shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event.”
Eric Trump moved quickly to discredit the screenshots after they circulated online. “This is completely fake! I have never reached out to Daniel. In fact, this is scary,” he wrote on social media. He followed up by stating: “We are aware of the fake, AI generated screenshots being circulated online. I have never spoken to Daniel. He has since deleted his post, which confirms it was clearly fabricated.”
Cormier is serving as a commentator for UFC Freedom 250, which is being held at the White House on Sunday. The deletion of his original post has left the authenticity of the screenshots unresolved, with Eric Trump’s camp pointing to that removal as evidence the images were never genuine.
