Dugarry slams LFP for failing to observe minute of silence for Éric Roy
Ahead of PSG's trip to Brest on Sunday evening, Christophe Dugarry strongly criticized the Professional Football League for not organizing an official minute of silence in memory of Éric Roy, the former Brest manager who recently passed away.
Christophe Dugarry spoke out to denounce the absence of an official minute of silence in French stadiums in tribute to Éric Roy, former Stade Brestois manager who recently died, on the eve of PSG’s trip to Brest this Sunday evening in Ligue 1.
The former French international did not mince words against the Professional Football League. “It’s quite incredible that there was no official minute of silence, it’s quite incredible, but at the League anyway… There we go,” he declared, visibly upset by this decision.
Dugarry also took the opportunity to recall the impact Roy left on the football world. “Éric was universally loved, whether at Brest or elsewhere. Through his competence, his kindness, his benevolence… He was an incredible guy. He is adored, he is loved by everyone,” the pundit emphasized, clearly moved by the loss of the coach.
The tribute planned this evening at Stade Francis-Le Blé will thus take on particular resonance. For Dugarry, it is essential to continue honoring Roy’s memory despite the pain. “We must not hesitate to do it, and to do it again. Even if it will be a difficult moment, it is always good to remember the good times people had, the moments spent together.”
On the sporting front, the match also carries major stakes for PSG, still seeking their first Ligue 1 victory of the season.
