Ousmane Dembélé is set to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Équipe and Canal+. Discussions, which have been underway for several weeks, are on the verge of being concluded, putting to rest the departure rumours that circulated during the summer.

The French international, currently tied to the capital club until 2028, should thus extend his Paris adventure by several additional years. The two-time UEFA Champions League winner had briefly fuelled speculation during a rest period decided by the club ahead of a trip to Lille, with some evoking tensions with manager Luis Enrique. These rumours now appear to be unfounded.

If the extension is confirmed, it will not necessarily be the final chapter of Dembélé’s career in Europe. According to L’Équipe, the player is considering, at the end of his contract, « a move to a destination outside Europe ». Saudi Arabia and the MLS are among the options being studied.

At 27 years old, Dembélé is establishing himself as one of the cornerstones of PSG’s post-Mbappé project. His extension would send a strong signal about the sporting continuity of PSG, as the club seeks to rebuild its identity following the departure of its former star to Real Madrid.
