Darren Till knocks out Aaron Chalmers in round two of BKFC debut after early knockdown
Darren Till made an immediate impact in his bare-knuckle debut at BKFC 90, recovering from a first-round knockdown to stop Aaron Chalmers with a single left hand just 22 seconds into round two.
Darren Till announced himself in bare-knuckle boxing with a statement finish at BKFC 90 on Saturday, knocking out Aaron Chalmers 22 seconds into the second round after surviving a knockdown in the first to win his debut under the BKFC banner.
The co-main event opened with Chalmers, who entered the fight with a 2-0 record in BKFC, moving constantly and looking to unsettle the former UFC title challenger. Till responded with patience, working his jab, but was caught by a stiff left hook from Chalmers that put him down on one knee and triggered a mandatory standing eight count.
Till came out for the second round with a clear intention to end things quickly. As Chalmers ducked and moved, Till loaded up and landed a perfectly timed left hand that dropped his opponent to the canvas. The referee administered a 10 count, but Chalmers was visibly unable to continue and the contest was waved off.
“I was fcking made for this shit,” Till said after the win. “I’m built for it. I was like I can’t let this little cnt get this on me. That first round was his and now start letting my hands go.”
When asked about future opponents, Till was equally direct. “F*cking everyone! I don’t care. I’m not scared of anyone!”
Till had resisted overtures from BKFC for several years before eventually agreeing to compete, and his debut suggests he has adapted quickly to the format. A potential matchup with BKFC star Mike Perry — with whom Till has had a long-running public rivalry — now looms as a logical next step if both men continue on their current paths.
