Dana White confirms UFC will not re-sign Michael 'Venom' Page after Paris win

Michael ‘Venom’ Page has been cut by the UFC, with CEO Dana White confirming on Tuesday night that the promotion will not offer the British welterweight a new contract — despite Page winning his final fight on the roster just days earlier.

Page defeated Nursulton Ruziboev by unanimous decision in the featured bout of UFC Paris on Saturday, but the victory did little to change the organisation’s thinking. On Monday, it emerged that UFC media rankings panellists had been notified of Page’s removal from the roster. White then made the decision public following the latest episode of Contender Series.

“That was his last fight on his contract,” White said. “I don’t think we’re signing him, no. What’s the confusion? I think it’s been pretty clear that he wasn’t being re-signed, and that he would be taken out of the rankings, because he’s no longer on the roster.”

Page, 39, joined the UFC in 2024 after a career at Bellator that included an interim title challenge. He compiled a 5-1 record during his time with the promotion, but his tenure was marked by inconsistency — he moved between weight classes and produced a string of performances that failed to match the explosive highlight-reel style that had made his name. Heading into UFC Paris, Page had spoken openly about wanting to remind the organisation why they signed him, yet by his own admission he delivered another underwhelming showing.

Despite the parting, Page leaves the UFC in reasonable competitive shape. The Londoner enters free agency on a four-fight winning streak and carries an overall MMA record of 26-3, a profile that is likely to attract significant interest from rival promotions.
