Dana White adds $50K 'proper chaos' bonus to UFC 331 with no set criteria

Dana White has unveiled a one-night $50,000 ‘proper chaos’ bonus for UFC 331, set for Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on September 19, with the UFC CEO reserving the right to award it to whichever fighter he personally deems most deserving.

The additional prize sits outside the UFC’s existing bonus structure, which includes a $25,000 finishing bonus, a $100,000 Fight of the Night award, and multiple $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses. White has not defined any specific criteria for the new award — the call is entirely his.

“Long before I did a deal with Paramount, I’ve been telling you guys I’m a huge fan of ‘MobLand.’ It is one of the best shows on television,” White said in an Instagram video. “So, for one night only, we’re bringing a little proper chaos into the Octagon. At UFC 331, we are unlocking the proper chaos bonus. $50,000 awarded to the fighter who I think deserves it most.”

The bonus was announced in partnership with the Paramount+ series MobLand, with the promotion framing the award as a thematic tie-in to the show.

UFC 331 is headlined by a flyweight championship rematch between Joshua Van and former champion Alexandre Pantoja. The co-main event carries its own title implications, with lightweight contenders Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy meeting in a five-round bout that could shape the division’s next title picture.
