Cris Cyborg is not done with mixed martial arts. The Brazilian veteran confirmed in an interview with MMA Sucka that she plans to fight again, reversing what had been widely understood as a farewell to the sport following her final bout under the Professional Fighters League banner.

Cyborg, 39, most recently defeated Ketlen Vieira via unanimous decision at PFL Tampa on August 22 in what was initially billed as her last MMA outing. The result improved her professional record to 30-2 and, by her own account, convinced her there is more left to give.

“Yes, I will fight MMA again,” Cyborg said. “I think my performance against Ketlen Vieira proved I am still able to compete against the very best in the sport. Ketlen was tough and certainly felt extremely strong. But even though she missed weight by over seven pounds, I was able to display great footwork and fight IQ to win four out of the five rounds. I landed almost double the strikes she landed over our 25-minute fight.”

Vieira’s failure to make weight added a layer of controversy to the contest, but Cyborg framed the dominant performance as validation rather than an asterisk. The former UFC, Bellator, and PFL featherweight champion has long been regarded as one of the most decorated fighters in women’s MMA history, and her willingness to continue suggests she is targeting further competition rather than a ceremonial send-off.

No opponent, promotion, or timeline for her next fight has been announced. Cyborg’s next move will be closely watched given her free-agent status following the conclusion of her PFL commitment.
