Daniel Cormier denied being part of a viral social media exchange in which Eric Trump, son of President Donald Trump, allegedly asked the former UFC champion whether fights at the UFC White House event were rigged, as screenshots of the supposed conversation circulated widely on Sunday evening.

The screenshots, shared across multiple accounts, purported to show a direct message thread in which Trump first asked Cormier whether he planned to bet on the fights. When Cormier reportedly told him that UFC personnel are not permitted to wager, Trump allegedly pressed further, asking whether any fighters were carrying injuries before eventually asking outright: “Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged? I’ve been eyeing the Lopes fight and I think an upset wouldn’t be too unrealistic. $$”

Cormier’s supposed reply in the screenshots read: “No, none of our fights are rigged and honestly, I am appalled that you would even ask me something like that.” A separate tweet, allegedly posted and then deleted by Cormier, claimed he was speaking out against “insider behavior” and said he would “not tolerate this type” of conduct surrounding the event.

The alleged deleted tweet read: “I’m probably going to get a lot of flak for bringing this to light, however I refuse to stay silent. The UFC is a sport that I am deeply passionate about, I will not tolerate this type of insider behavior. Shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event.”

The original thread is no longer visible on the platform. Cormier subsequently posted a terse response — “Are people really this dumb?” — though it remains unclear whether he was dismissing the screenshots as fabricated, suggesting his account had been compromised, or reacting to something else entirely.

Cormier was scheduled to serve as cageside commentator for the event, held on the South Lawn of the White House.
