Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro make surprise cameos in Madonna's new short film
Chelsea forwards Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro appear alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Benedict Cumberbatch in Madonna's 14-minute Confessions II film, which premiered on 8 June ahead of her 3 July album release.
Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro turned from Premier League footballers to film stars on Monday, appearing as surprise cameos in Madonna’s newly premiered short film Confessions II.
The 14-minute film, which debuted on 8 June and showcases six new songs from Madonna’s upcoming album due on 3 July, features the two Chelsea forwards in a bathroom rave scene. As the 67-year-old pop icon walks past a group of men at the urinals, Palmer and Joao Pedro turn around to make eye contact with her.
The cameo had been quietly telegraphed a month earlier when Palmer revealed that Madonna was the most famous person he had ever met — a comment that, in hindsight, read as a deliberate tease.
The Chelsea pair are in notable company throughout the film. Sabrina Carpenter, Benedict Cumberbatch and Richard E Grant are among the other celebrity faces to appear alongside Madonna in the project.
