Olympique de Marseille claimed their second Ligue 1 victory of the season with a 2-0 win away at Troyes on Sunday evening, closing out matchday 6. A hard-fought success that allows Genesio’s side to escape the relegation zone.

Forced to rely on young talents like Bezahaf and Kamissoko, Marseille delivered a sluggish performance against a Troyes team that dominated possession for much of the match. Estac, a potential direct rival in the fight for survival, certainly deserved better.

The difference came in the opening minutes of the second half, the only moment of Troyes’ hesitation. From a good cross by Emerson, Harit cut in at the far post to open the scoring (50th) — the only shot on target for the Phocéens in this match. Troyes then pressed without managing to equalize, before Moumbagna earned a penalty in added time, converted by Abdelli to seal the victory (90+6).

In the standings, OM jump to 13th place, seven points off the podium they set as their objective at the start of the season. Troyes, meanwhile, slip to 17th place with two fewer points than their opponents. A victory that brings relief without convincing, after five consecutive defeats across all competitions.
