Michael Chandler has addressed his first-round knockout loss to Mauricio Ruffy at UFC White House, posting a lengthy video on social media in which he praised the young Brazilian, confirmed he is in good health, and vowed to continue competing.

The defeat was Chandler’s fourth consecutive loss in the UFC, leaving him with a 2-6 record under the promotion’s banner — a stark contrast to his 18-5 run in Bellator, where he won the lightweight title. His recent skid also includes defeats to Paddy Pimblett, Charles Oliveira, and Dustin Poirier.

“Obviously, the fight did not go my way, but I’m in good spirits,” Chandler said. “I’m happy. I’m healthy. I’m hard to kill. I’m impossible to kill. I’m impossible to defeat because I am so truly blessed.”

Chandler was candid about the physical toll of the stoppage, noting a cut to his ear from a punch, but was generous in his assessment of Ruffy. “Hats off to Mauricio Ruffy. He was a tough puzzle to solve. He’s long, he’s fast, he’s accurate, he’s a good striker. He landed the shots that ended the fight, so here we are.”

Despite the mounting losses, Chandler made no mention of retirement. Instead, he reflected on preparation, crediting his coaching team — including head coach Henry, striking coach Tywon Claxton, Robbie Lawler, and strength and conditioning coach Corey Peacock — while accepting the result without excuses.

“I promise you I prepared to the best of my ability. Left no stone unturned in the preparation,” he said. “We just fell short. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it.”

Chandler framed the loss as an opportunity for recalibration, delivering a characteristically defiant message to his supporters. “It’s not about taking the losses; it’s how you respond to the losses. You can bounce back better, bounce back with more wisdom, bounce back with more experience, and continue to chase down the man you were destined to be.”

He closed by thanking fans for their support and promising to move forward “in typical Chandler fashion.”
