Cesar Almeida has reportedly stepped in to face undefeated middleweight prospect Donte Johnson at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, after Baisangur Susurkaev withdrew from the bout for undisclosed reasons.

Susurkaev (12-0) vs. Johnson (9-0) had been one of the more compelling undercard matchups on the card, pitting two unblemished prospects against each other. With Susurkaev’s exit, the all-undefeated billing is gone, but Johnson’s unbeaten record remains the headline.

Almeida (7-3) enters on the back of a first-round knockout loss to Damian Pinas in July and sits at 3-3 inside the UFC. The Brazilian’s willingness to step in on short notice gives Johnson a seasoned, if inconsistent, opponent rather than a hand-picked showcase fight.

Johnson (9-0) is 3-0 in the UFC and has looked sharp in each appearance. He most recently stopped Eric McConico at UFC 330, following earlier wins over Cody Brundage and Sedriques Dumas.

The updated UFC 334 lineup, as of Sept. 29, is as follows:

  • Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit
  • Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes
  • Caio Borralho vs. Yousri Belgaroui
  • Uros Medic vs. Kevin Holland
  • Bilal Hasan vs. Luis Gurule
  • Drew Dober vs. Chris Duncan
  • Stephen Thompson vs. Charles Radtke
  • Donte Johnson vs. Cesar Almeida
  • Jim Miller vs. Terrance McKinney
  • Beatriz Mesquita vs. Macy Chiasson
  • Adrian Yanez vs. Juan Diaz
