The Carabao Cup fourth-round draw is scheduled for Wednesday 16 September, following the conclusion of the third-round tie between Manchester United and Brighton at Old Trafford, with the draw expected some time after 10pm BST.

Sixteen clubs have booked their places in the last 16, among them Arsenal, who beat Ipswich Town 4-2, and Liverpool, who defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1. Newcastle United also progressed, edging Millwall 1-0, while Chelsea produced the most emphatic result of the round, thrashing Leeds United 6-3.

Fulham, Brentford, Bradford City, Sunderland, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Peterborough United — who survived a penalty shootout against Barnsley, winning 7-6 on spot-kicks after a 3-3 draw — are also through. Three ties remain to be played on Wednesday: Everton vs Wolves, Fleetwood Town vs Sheffield United, and Coventry City vs Aston Villa. Manchester City vs Norwich City follows on Thursday 17 September.

Unlike the third round, which required splitting the fixture list to accommodate Premier League clubs involved in European competition, the fourth round will operate with no regionalisation or pre-draw seeding, meaning any of the 16 remaining sides can be paired together.

Presenter Pien Meulensteen will host the draw, with former Premier League players Jamie Redknapp and Ashley Young conducting the proceedings. Ball numbers are due to be confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Fourth-round ties are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 26 October, played as single-legged fixtures.
