Benzema invests €20 million in luxury tower in Dubai
After leaving the Saudi championship, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner is anchoring his wealth in the Gulf by acquiring several prestigious residences within the futuristic Mercedes-Benz Places – Binghatti City complex, including a unit in the Vision Iconic Tower for nearly €20 million.
Karim Benzema has finalized the purchase of several luxury residences in Dubai, including a unit in the Vision Iconic Tower of the Mercedes-Benz Places – Binghatti City complex, for an amount approaching €20 million. The transaction was signed during a ceremony at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, in the presence of Abdullah Binghatti, commercial director of the group, and president Muhammad Binghatti.
The former Real Madrid striker has set his sights on one of the most ambitious real estate projects in the United Arab Emirates. Developed by promoter Binghatti in the Nad Al Sheba district, near Meydan, this program valued at an estimated 30 billion dirhams (approximately €7.6 billion) constitutes the first urban community of nearly 930,000 m² branded by the German automaker.
The Vision Iconic Tower, the centerpiece of the complex, concentrates the bulk of Benzema’s investment. Standing 341 meters tall with 78 floors, it will house 1,426 residences — from two-bedroom apartments to royal suites — as well as 27 commercial spaces. It will stand at the center of 12 other residential skyscrapers forming a complex of more than 13,000 homes, enhanced by hotel services and vast landscaped spaces.
This operation is part of a wealth diversification strategy that Benzema has been pursuing since his move to the Gulf, where he is also an official ambassador for Saudi Arabia. Despite the end of his adventure in the Saudi Pro League, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner is thus strengthening his foothold in the region.
He joins a circle of top-level athletes who have invested in exceptional real estate in Dubai. Neymar acquired a Sky Mansion there for €50 million from the same promoter; Aymeric Laporte and Karim Bellarabi have also invested in Binghatti programs. A trend that illustrates the growing appeal of the Emirati metropolis for major sporting fortunes worldwide.
