Battle returns to hometown Charlotte to headline PFL middleweight card against Rosta in August
The PFL has announced an August 7 event at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C., headlined by a middleweight bout between Bryan Battle and Dalton Rosta. Battle, who grew up in Charlotte, is looking to rebound after a submission loss to Johnny Eblen on his PFL debut in March.
Bryan Battle will fight in front of his hometown crowd on August 7, when the PFL hosts an event at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C., with Battle facing Dalton Rosta in the middleweight main event.
Battle (12-3, 1 no-contest) grew up in Charlotte and still trains there, making the booking a natural fit. He first rose to prominence by winning The Ultimate Fighter 29 before a stint in the UFC that ended in 2024 following repeated issues making weight. After a brief run in Dirty Boxing, Battle made his PFL debut in March, where he was submitted by former champion Johnny Eblen.
Rosta (11-3) arrives in similar form. A Bellator stalwart for much of his career, he joined PFL in 2025 and reached the middleweight tournament final before losing to Fabien Edwards. His most recent outing in March ended in a knockout defeat to Impa Kasanganay, leaving both headliners with something to prove.
The card is rounded out by two further middleweight contests. Josh Silveira (15-5) meets Aaron Jeffery (16-6) in a matchup of fighters with deep roots in the sport’s major promotions — Silveira was a 2023 PFL tournament finalist, losing to Kasanganay, while Jeffery made the move from Bellator to PFL in 2025 and most recently dropped a split decision to Rosta last June.
In the other bout, Josh Fremd (12-6) takes on Jhony Gregory (10-5). Fremd has competed across multiple organisations and picked up a victory in BKFC as recently as April. Gregory, who joined PFL last year, is coming off a win over Haider Khan at PFL Dubai in February.
