Iwo Baraniewski has never seen a second round in his professional career, and Junior Tafa did nothing to change that at UFC Vegas 118 on Saturday, as the unbeaten Polish heavyweight stopped his opponent in just 85 seconds via leg kicks.

The 27-year-old, now 9-0, needed little time to find his range. After a brief feeling-out period, Baraniewski drilled a calf kick into Tafa’s leg that drew an immediate and visible reaction. A second calf kick followed moments later, sending Tafa crashing to the canvas. Baraniewski swarmed with a barrage of punches, and Tafa — covering up and waiting — gave the referee no choice but to step in.

The finish was the latest chapter in a remarkable run of efficiency. Baraniewski first announced himself with a 20-second knockout on the Contender Series last year, earning his UFC contract in the most emphatic fashion possible. His two subsequent UFC appearances have lasted a combined one minute and 57 seconds, and Saturday’s effort brought his total UFC ring time to under three minutes across three fights.

Tafa, known as a powerful striker, was expected to offer some resistance to the rising prospect, but the bout never reached a competitive phase. The veteran’s durability was never truly tested — Baraniewski’s leg-kick strategy dismantled him before any exchange of power shots could develop.

After the bout, Baraniewski joked that he genuinely does not know what a second round looks like, before issuing a clear demand: a top-15 opponent next. With three first-round finishes and a spotless professional record, the call is difficult to argue against.
