Arsenal target Gibbs-White as £80m Rogers pursuit faces PSG competition
Arsenal have added Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White to their transfer shortlist as a fallback option should they fail to land primary target Morgan Rogers, who is also being chased by Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal are monitoring Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as a contingency option in their search for a new No.10 this summer, with the 26-year-old emerging as a potential alternative to primary target Morgan Rogers.
The Gunners have identified Aston Villa’s Rogers as their top choice after another exceptional season in which he scored 14 goals and contributed 12 assists across 55 appearances. However, Paris Saint-Germain — fresh from winning the Champions League — are also pursuing the England international, complicating Arsenal’s bid for the £80m-rated midfielder.
Should Mikel Arteta’s side be priced out or beaten to Rogers, Gibbs-White is among the names on their shortlist, according to The Sun. The Forest vice-captain enjoyed a standout 2025/26 campaign of his own, netting 18 goals and registering seven assists in 53 matches, though those performances were not enough to earn him a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup.
Arsenal are not alone in their interest. Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United player.
Gibbs-White looked set to join Spurs 12 months ago before Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis persuaded him to sign a new contract running until June 2028. Marinakis is expected to resist any approach again this summer, particularly with the club also working to fend off interest from Manchester City and Manchester United in £100m-rated teammate Elliot Anderson.
When approached by a reporter at the Monaco Grand Prix — where he spent the weekend following his World Cup omission — Gibbs-White gave little away about his future plans, saying he was focused on rest and time with his partner before the new season.
