Arsenal are expected to move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis after confirming an agreement to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for £17 million. The 31-year-old Belgian has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and finalise his permanent transfer to the Turkish Super Lig club.

According to BBC Sport, Brugge are now braced for a formal offer from Arsenal following the resolution of Trossard’s future. Uncertainty over the Belgian’s exit had been holding up progress on a deal for Tzolis, but with that obstacle cleared, Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is understood to be actively working on bringing the Greece international to north London.

Tzolis, a former Norwich City winger, is valued at around £30 million by Brugge. The 24-year-old has emerged as a priority target for Arsenal as they look to bolster their forward options ahead of their Premier League title defence next season.

He is not the only attacker on Arsenal’s radar this summer. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola have also been linked with moves to the Emirates, while Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is another name of interest as the club prepares for what could be a significant overhaul of their attacking department.

Arsenal’s official statement on the Trossard deal read: “We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard. With a transfer fee agreed, Leo has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.”
