Arsenal face Napoli opener as all five Premier League clubs learn Champions League fate

Arsenal will open their 2026-27 Champions League campaign away at Napoli on 9 September, with Liverpool hosting Atletico Madrid the same week, after the full fixture list for all five Premier League clubs was released.

The Gunners, beaten on penalties in last year’s final, face a demanding schedule that includes a trip to Bayern Munich in October and a home tie against Real Madrid at the Emirates in December. Arsenal’s eight-match league phase also takes in Lille, Slavia Praha, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Betis.

Liverpool, now managed by Andoni Iraola, face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in their Anfield opener before a run that includes away fixtures at Fenerbahce, Club Brugge, and Inter Milan’s San Siro in January.

Manchester United are back in the Champions League after a period of absence and begin at home to Sabah FC on 10 September. Michael Carrick’s side will twice travel to Spain — to Atletico Madrid and Villarreal — and host Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in January.

Manchester City, who were knocked out by Real Madrid last season, open away at FC Porto before welcoming PSG to the Etihad in October and travelling to Barcelona in December — all without Pep Guardiola for the first time in a decade.

Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery in the Champions League for a second time, begin at Club Brugge and face trips to Barcelona and Turkish champions Galatasaray, with PSG visiting Villa Park during the league phase.
