Alonso adds chrome-wrapped Bugatti Veyron to a hypercar collection that spans 14 machines

Fernando Alonso has expanded his private car collection with a chrome-wrapped Bugatti 16.4 Veyron Grand Sport, footage of the two-time Formula 1 champion picking up the hypercar circulating widely on social media.

The Bugatti 16.4 Veyron Grand Sport is powered by an 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produced 1001 horsepower in its original specification, with later variants pushing that figure to 1200 hp. The car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and tops out at 407 km/h. Alonso opted for a full chrome wrap rather than the model’s traditional two-tone livery.

Fans reacted enthusiastically online. “His collection is astounding!!” one follower wrote on Instagram, while another offered a more irreverent take: “Bro collecting hypercars like Pokémon.”

The Veyron joins a garage thought to include a Pagani Zonda Verde Diamante, a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, a Ferrari LaFerrari, a McLaren P1, a Porsche 918 Spyder, two Bugatti EB110 GTs, and several Aston Martin road cars — among them the Valkyrie and the Valiant.

The acquisition comes as Alonso endures a difficult 2026 Formula 1 campaign with Aston Martin. The Spaniard finished 17th at the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix held at the new Madring circuit, while team-mate Lance Stroll retired from the same race. Aston Martin introduced a B-spec car at the Hungarian Grand Prix and further power unit upgrades at the Dutch Grand Prix, yet the Silverstone-based outfit currently sits tenth in the constructors’ standings with just three points — ahead only of the newly formed Cadillac team.
