2027 Champions League final set for Madrid's Metropolitano on June 5
UEFA has confirmed the 2027 Champions League final will be held at Atletico Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday, June 5, 2027 — the same venue that hosted Liverpool's victory over Tottenham in 2019. Tickets will be distributed via UEFA's lottery system from spring 2027.
The 2027 UEFA Champions League final will take place at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on Saturday, June 5, 2027, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time (9pm local). The 70,000-capacity ground, home to La Liga club Atletico Madrid, previously hosted the 2019 final in which Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur.
The Metropolitano originally opened as a much smaller venue before being redeveloped and relaunched in 2017, establishing itself as one of Europe’s premier football arenas. The early-June date is designed to allow all domestic leagues to conclude before the showpiece.
Official ticket pricing and allocation details have not yet been finalised by UEFA. The governing body is expected to release tickets through its traditional lottery system on the UEFA ticketing portal in spring 2027. Supporters are advised to register an account on the portal before April 2027 to enter the ballot. Both finalists will also receive dedicated allocations to distribute to season ticket holders and loyal supporters.
The road to Madrid begins with the league phase, which kicks off between September 8 and 10. The knockout rounds get underway with the round of 16 starting on March 9, 2027, followed by the quarter-finals in April. The semi-finals — which will determine who travels to the Spanish capital — are scheduled for late April and early May 2027.
