Zidane announces his second France squad list on Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m.
Zinédine Zidane will unveil his second selection for the France national team on Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m., at the headquarters of the French Football Federation in Paris, ahead of two UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Turkey.
Zinédine Zidane will announce his second squad list as manager on Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m., at the headquarters of the French Football Federation in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The gathering at Clairefontaine is scheduled for Monday, November 9, with a training session open to the public and media from day one.
France have two UEFA Nations League fixtures to fulfill: an away trip to Milan to face Italy on November 12, followed by hosting Turkey in Bordeaux on November 15. This international window comes after a successful first gathering under Zidane, marked by three victories — two against Belgium and one in Turkey — and a home draw against Italy.
The choice of Friday confirms a deliberate break with the habits of Didier Deschamps, who systematically announced his squads on a Thursday. Zidane had already opted for this time slot on September 18, the date of his first squad announcement as manager.
The big question remains the composition of this list. In the first selection, no fewer than seven new faces were integrated: Guillaume Restes, Jérémy Jacquet, Andy Diouf, Lucas Da Cunha and Esteban Lepaul in the initial announcement, then Jean Butez and Leny Yoro as replacements. At the same time, several World Cup players from the summer were left out, whether through injury or poor form: Théo Hernandez, Lucas Hernandez, Lucas Digne, Malo Gusto, William Saliba, Aurélien Tchouaméni, N’Golo Kanté, Marcus Thuram and Jean-Philippe Mateta. Some of them could make their return if their situation has improved since September.
