Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Morocco international Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven on a long-term contract running until June 2031, with German outlet Bild reporting a fixed fee of €50 million that could rise to €52 million through performance-related bonuses. The deal places Saibari among the most expensive signings in Bayern’s history, alongside Harry Kane and Matthijs de Ligt.

The 25-year-old forward arrives in Munich in the middle of an eye-catching World Cup campaign in North America, having already scored against Brazil, Scotland and Haiti. His most decisive moment came in the round of 16, where he converted the winning penalty in Morocco’s shootout victory over the Netherlands.

Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl confirmed the club had tracked Saibari for some time before moving. “Transfers like this don’t happen on the spur of the moment but are the result of long-term planning,” Eberl said on Bayern’s official website. “The key factor was that we made our position clear to him early on because we were aware of Ismael’s skills and were able to show him a clear future with us from the start. Ismael Saibari will bring extra quality and unpredictability to our attacking play.”

Sporting director Christoph Freund pointed to Saibari’s consistency across multiple competitions as a key factor in the decision. “Ismael Saibari has won the Dutch championship title with Eindhoven three times in a row, he has Champions League experience and is now demonstrating how valuable he can be for a team at the World Cup, at the highest level,” Freund said. “He’s versatile, intense and bold in his play, he has the hunger we want to see at FC Bayern and his goal threat and mentality will boost the team.”

During his time at PSV, Saibari accumulated 42 goals and 29 assists, contributing to three consecutive Eredivisie titles and earning the Dutch Footballer of the Year award in his final season in Eindhoven. Internationally, he has made 34 appearances for Morocco, scoring 12 goals, and was part of the squad that won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Vincent Kompany’s side have moved quickly to add a proven attacking option ahead of next season, with Saibari’s blend of directness, goal threat and big-game experience making him one of the most sought-after forwards in European football heading into the summer window.
