Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja both came in at 125 pounds at Friday’s official UFC 331 weigh-ins in Los Angeles, confirming their flyweight championship rematch at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday is on. All 24 fighters on the card made weight.
The bout has been nine months in the making. Their first meeting at UFC 323 lasted just 26 seconds, ending when Pantoja suffered a freak arm injury that handed Van the title under unusual circumstances. The Brazilian has spent the intervening months recovering, while Van made a successful defence against Tatsura Taira in his absence. Pantoja was the second fighter to the scale on Friday, stepping up early in the session before Van later matched his weight.
In the co-main event, lightweights Arman Tsarukyan (156 lbs) and Mauricio Ruffy (155 lbs) also cleared their marks for their five-round, non-title bout. The fight is being framed as a title eliminator, with the winner targeting a shot at lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in 2027.
