United face June 30 deadline to sign £35m Juventus midfielder Thuram ahead of Liverpool

Manchester United have a firm financial deadline to sign Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, with the Italian club needing to record transfer profits before June 30 — the final day of their 2025/26 financial year — according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

Juventus value the 25-year-old France international at between £34.7m (€40m) and £39m (€45m) this summer, and the club are reportedly looking to raise up to €13m (£11.3m) in profit before that date. Thuram is among several players Juventus are willing to sell to meet that target, alongside Andrea Cambiaso, Gleison Bremer, Michele Di Gregorio, Jonathan David, Federico Gatti, Juan Cabal, and Fabio Miretti.

United are not alone in their reported interest. Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Thuram, while Nottingham Forest and Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli have been named as further potential destinations.

The move would address a pressing need in United’s midfield following the departure of Casemiro, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this month. United have already agreed terms to sign Atalanta’s Ederson for an initial £35m, with up to £3.8m in add-ons, but are yet to officially complete their first signing of the summer window.

Thuram, who has established himself as a key figure in Juventus’s midfield since joining from Nice in 2023, brings physicality and technical quality to the centre of the pitch — attributes United have identified as priorities as they rebuild their squad ahead of the new Premier League season, which begins on August 22.
