Téléfoot returns in 2026 with TF1 – L'Équipe partnership and new Ligue 1 magazine
TF1 has confirmed the return of Téléfoot for autumn 2026, airing every Sunday at 11 a.m. The channel is partnering with the L'Équipe Group to launch a weekly magazine dedicated to Ligue 1, hosted by Grégoire Margotton.
TF1 confirmed on Thursday the return of Téléfoot in autumn 2026, ending uncertainty surrounding the show’s future. The French football Sunday slot will retain its historic 11 a.m. time slot on TF1, with launch set for September 6, 2026.
The channel did not stop there. TF1 and the L’Équipe Group jointly announced a strategic partnership around the Téléfoot brand, which will create a new weekly magazine dedicated to Ligue 1 and football news. This new programme will first air on the L’Équipe channel before being offered on streaming service TF1+.
Grégoire Margotton will lead the new programme, supported by journalists, columnists and analysts from both groups. Bixente Lizarazu, 1998 World Cup winner and familiar face on TF1’s football shows, will be among the regular contributors.
« This agreement illustrates the strength of the Téléfoot brand and demonstrates the TF1 Group’s editorial ambition in sports and football. We are delighted to collaborate with the L’Équipe Group, the absolute reference in sports journalism, to allow an even wider reach for this emblematic brand that has shone for over 50 years », said Julien Millereux, head of sports for the TF1 Group.
This rapprochement between the two media groups marks a significant evolution for a programme founded more than half a century ago, which now relies on the editorial resources of France’s leading sports media title to expand its audience.
