Song Yadong submits Figueiredo at UFC Macau to earn performance bonus
Song Yadong headlined the UFC Macau bonus haul by submitting Deiveson Figueiredo with a guillotine choke in Round 2, while Kai Asakura and light heavyweights Alonzo Menifield and Mingyang Zhang also collected $100,000 performance awards.
Song Yadong submitted Deiveson Figueiredo with a tight guillotine choke in Round 2 of the UFC Macau main event on May 30, 2026, earning the 28-year-old Chinese fighter a $100,000 performance-of-the-night bonus in front of his home crowd.
Song (23-9-1) moves to 2-1 in his last three bouts and has positioned himself as a serious bantamweight contender. The finish was the highlight of a 13-fight card held in Macau, China, and drew a thunderous reaction from the local crowd who had packed in to see one of the country’s most prominent UFC fighters.
The second performance-of-the-night bonus went to Kai Asakura, who made an immediate impact on his bantamweight debut inside the Octagon. Asakura (22-6) stopped Cameron Smotherman with a sharp flurry of punches at 1:50 of the first round. The former title contender had been searching for his first UFC victory, and the decisive finish gives him a platform to build on in the 135-pound division.
The fight-of-the-night award — worth $100,000 to each fighter — went to light heavyweights Alonzo Menifield and Mingyang Zhang. The pair produced a brawling contest that ultimately went Menifield’s way, with the American’s power punches proving too much for Zhang to withstand. Menifield, now 3-1 in his last four outings, will look to parlay the result into a matchup with a ranked contender.
