Salah's agent hints next club could be confirmed 'very soon' after Liverpool exit
Mohamed Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa has posted on X that the 34-year-old's destination for next season may be revealed imminently, with Saudi Arabia, MLS side Sporting Kansas City, and Turkish club Besiktas all linked.
Mohamed Salah’s agent has signalled that the Egyptian forward’s next club could be announced imminently, more than a month after the 34-year-old departed Liverpool at the end of last season.
Posting on X, Ramy Abbas Issa wrote: “We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon.” The update comes after Salah himself had promised clarity once Egypt’s World Cup campaign concluded — a run that ended in the last 16.
Salah had previously told reporters: “I am still assessing things. I have time now. I am going to the World Cup and then everything will become clear.” Egypt’s exit from the tournament has now removed that timeline, leaving his agent’s post as the most concrete signal yet that a decision is close.
Several clubs have been linked with the former Liverpool winger since his Anfield departure. A move to Saudi Arabia has been mooted for a second time, while Major League Soccer remains in the picture. Sporting Kansas City have emerged as potential frontrunners in the United States, though the club’s president of soccer operations, David Lee, declined to confirm any interest in specific players.
“I’m not going to share anything on individual players, whether those players are under contract or not,” Lee said. “We are interested in really good players. So anyone we think can be a fit for us and is going to fit what we would like to do, we have an interest in and would like to have a conversation with.”
Turkish side Besiktas have also entered the conversation, with reports in Turkey claiming the club has already submitted an offer for Salah. The Istanbul club has been active in the transfer market this summer, having recently signed former Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard for around £15 million.
Back at Liverpool, the club has moved to strengthen its squad with the signings of Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz, but a direct replacement for Salah has yet to materialise. PSG’s Bradley Barcola has been linked with a move to Anfield, though the French champions are reportedly demanding around £128 million for the 22-year-old.
