Renato Moicano's debut MMA promotion draws 600,000 views with chaotic Brazilian showcase

UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano launched his own promotion, Money Moicano MMA, with an inaugural show in São Paulo, Brazil that drew nearly 600,000 YouTube views and peaked at 60,000 concurrent live viewers. Contender Series veteran Jair Farias headlined the professional card, winning a split decision over Ricardo de Almeida, while former LFA fighter Miguel Porto stopped Thiago Vieira by second-round TKO.

The most talked-about moment came from the “Rinha de Inscritos” segment — sanctioned amateur bouts between subscribers of Moicano’s YouTube channel. The middleweight clash between Riquelme Fofo and Kaua Rosemberg was billed as “Petista vs. Bolsonarista,” pitting a supporter of left-wing president Lula against a supporter of right-wing former president Bolsonaro. Fofo, the left-wing fighter, won by TKO after Rosemberg quit on the stool — and an exhausted Rosemberg then fainted before the result could be officially announced.

Moicano, who served as colour commentator at cageside for portions of the event, was visibly amused throughout. In another Rinha de Inscritos bout, Artur Homem Deita drew attention for attempting to defend punches by shielding the wrong side of his head, losing a decision but earning a degree of crowd affection for a Carlos Prates-inspired reaction to further shots later in the round.

The inaugural Rinha de Inscritos championship was settled when Daniel Sovietico stopped Eduardo Lumbriga with ground-and-pound late in Round 1, though Lumbriga disputed the stoppage. On the professional undercard, bantamweight Hector Santiago improved to 6-1 by flooring Paulo Nogueira with a right hand in the opening round.

Money Moicano MMA is expected to return for a second show in October.
