Real Madrid appoints Bernd Reichart, Super League architect, as business director
Struggling in La Liga with a six-point deficit behind Barcelona, Real Madrid has strengthened its management structure by appointing German businessman Bernd Reichart, a key figure in the European Super League project, as the club's business director.
Real Madrid has officially announced the arrival of Bernd Reichart in a management position, according to Spanish newspaper AS. The German businessman, known for his central role in the European Super League project, joins the club as business director and will report to José Angel Sanchez, the right-hand man of president Florentino Perez.
This appointment comes at a complicated time for Real Madrid. In La Liga, the club already trails FC Barcelona by six points in the standings, despite an ambitious summer transfer window marked by the arrivals of Yan Diomandé, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté and Marc Cucurella. In the UEFA Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti’s side secured their victory on Wednesday in Rome thanks to three corner goals, without fully convincing.
The prospect of reinforcements during the January transfer window remains open if results do not improve by then. In the meantime, it is off the pitch that the Madrid club has chosen to act first, relying on Reichart’s profile to develop its commercial activities.
