Piwowarczyk earns UFC contract with first-round TKO of unbeaten Quissua at DWCS

Damian Piwowarczyk punched his way into the UFC on Tuesday night, stopping unbeaten Emilio Quissua via first-round TKO at 4:55 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas to earn a contract on Week 7 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10.

The Polish light heavyweight had to weather an early surge from Quissua before taking control and finishing with strikes, ending his opponent’s perfect record in the process. UFC CEO Dana White was sufficiently impressed to award Piwowarczyk a contract immediately after the bout.

“It was really great. It’s one of the best moments in my life,” Piwowarczyk said in his post-fight interview. “I put a lot of work into this moment. My camp is really long, like three or four months… I just put a lot of work to be here in top shape.”

Piwowarczyk arrives in the UFC with a well-established reputation in European MMA, having built his name under the KSW banner in Poland, where he was regarded as one of the organisation’s most exciting performers before earning his Contender Series shot.

The victory represents a significant step up in platform for the 29-year-old, who now joins the world’s premier MMA promotion after proving he could handle the pressure of a high-stakes audition against a previously unblemished opponent.
