Pearce and Keown on commentary duty as Mexico face South Korea in Group A clash

Jonathan Pearce and Martin Keown are paired together on BBC commentary for Mexico vs South Korea, a Group A meeting between two sides who head into the fixture with perfect records.

Mexico opened the tournament with a victory over South Africa in the competition’s opening game, while South Korea followed suit by defeating Czechia in Guadalajara. Both teams arrive knowing a second consecutive win would put them in a strong position to reach the knockout stage.

Coverage begins at 1:50am UK time, ten minutes before the 2am kick-off. With the late start, the BBC opted against a pre-match studio segment, cutting straight to the commentary team at kick-off.

Pearce is one of the BBC’s most experienced voices, having covered multiple World Cups and European Championships across his long career with the broadcaster.
