Pantoja out-earns champion Van on UFC 331 disclosed salary sheet

Alexandre Pantoja collected the largest disclosed purse at UFC 331, earning $650,000 for his flyweight title rematch against Joshua Van — $150,000 more than the reigning champion, who received $500,000 for his second title defense. The figures were published by the California State Athletic Commission and do not include performance bonuses or any undisclosed payments.

Pantoja’s higher flat rate reflects his status as a former titleholder entering a high-profile rematch, even as Van held the belt heading into the contest. Neither fighter had a win bonus attached to their disclosed payout.

Among the rest of the card, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and Marlon “Chito” Vera each earned $400,000 — both on show-plus-win splits of $200,000 apiece — placing them third on the salary list. Arman Tsarukyan and Tai Tuivasa each received $350,000 flat, while Alonzo Menifield took home $310,000 on a 50/50 split.

Gable Steveson, the Olympic wrestling gold medallist turned MMA fighter, disclosed $160,000, and Joanderson Brito earned $158,000 on a win-bonus structure. Edmen Shahbazyan’s $250,000 payout placed him mid-card, while Robelis Despaigne received $200,000.

At the lower end of the scale, Joo Sang Yoo disclosed just $12,000 — the smallest purse on the card — followed by Osman Diaz at $25,000 and Ryan Gandra at $28,000. Eduarda Moura’s $33,000 was the next lowest among the disclosed figures.

The CSAC disclosures represent only the base contractual amounts reported to the commission. Fighters typically receive additional income through UFC performance bonuses, sponsorship deals, and other payments that are not captured in the public filing.
