Out of contract after Monaco setback, Pogba turns to MLS to revive his career
Free since the termination of his AS Monaco contract in August, Paul Pogba is exploring the MLS option. His representatives have contacted several North American franchises, but no firm offer has yet emerged.
Paul Pogba has been without a club since the termination of his AS Monaco contract last August, and it is towards Major League Soccer that the 33-year-old midfielder now appears to be turning to revive his career.
His spell on the Rock, meant to mark his grand return to competition after a lengthy doping suspension and his departure from Juventus Turin, quickly fell short. Hampered by repeated injuries, the 2018 World Cup winner played just six matches in the AS Monaco shirt — including only one start — before prematurely ending a contract initially planned for two years.
Despite these setbacks, Pogba is not considering retirement. According to the Daily Mail, MLS is now emerging as the most credible destination to welcome him. As early as August, his entourage took the initiative by offering his services to several North American franchises. Informal discussions had already taken place in the past with DC United, and rumors have regularly linked him to New York City FC as well as Inter Miami.
For now, no concrete negotiations or firm offer has materialized. The future of the French international midfielder remains in limbo, awaiting a project capable of offering him the playing time and stability necessary to revive a career heavily tested in recent years.
