One-club loyalist Lotte Sharp re-signs with Saracens for record 13th season

Lotte Sharp has signed a new contract with Saracens, extending a one-club career that began in 2014 and will now stretch into a 13th season at StoneX Stadium.

The 31-year-old winger joined from Welwyn Rugby as a teenager and won the Women’s Premiership in her debut campaign. She has since accumulated more than 180 appearances for the club, claimed four Premiership Women’s Rugby titles, and passed the 150-cap milestone along the way. Last season she made 15 league appearances and scored five tries.

Director of Rugby Alex Austerberry paid tribute to Sharp’s durability and influence both on and off the pitch. “Lotte embodies what it is to be a Saracen,” he said. “Hard-working, physical and, time and time again, she puts her body on the line for the team. A key leader in the group who continues to perform at an incredibly high level, Lotte’s consistency and longevity are testament to her character, diligence, and drive.”

Sharp balances her playing career with a full-time teaching post at Heath Mount School, a dual commitment Austerberry highlighted as central to the values she brings to the squad.

International rugby has added another layer of complexity to Sharp’s story. After earning 10 caps for England and representing the country in sevens, she completed a union birthright transfer in 2022 and switched allegiance to the USA Women’s Eagles. She featured for the Eagles at Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 but has not been included in Jack Hanratty’s WXV Global Series squad for upcoming tour fixtures against Ireland and Wales, with the USA also set to host Italy and England in October.

Sharp herself expressed straightforward pride in the renewal. “I am incredibly excited and proud to represent Saracens for my 13th season at the club,” she said. “It’s a pretty special place, and I feel very fortunate to continue being part of it.”
