OM set to reunite with Adidas from 2027, a much more lucrative deal in sight

Marseille could reunite with Adidas as early as the 2026-2027 season, according to reports of active discussions between the two parties. The current Puma contract was originally set to run until 2028, but negotiations aim to accelerate this change by at least a year.

The three-stripe brand is no stranger to OM: it equipped the club from 1974 to 2018, with a brief Reebok-Mizuno interlude between 1994 and 1996. An agreement may have already been reached according to specialist site Footy Headlines, though nothing has been officially confirmed at this stage.

The financial stakes are considerable for a management seeking liquidity. The future contract is described as “long-term” and “much more lucrative” than the current agreement, a prospect that comes at a crucial time for a club forced to maintain strict wage control under DNCG oversight.

On the pitch, however, the situation is concerning. After five Ligue 1 matchdays, Marseille sits in the penultimate place with just three points. In Ligue Europa, the club suffered a heavy defeat to Besiktas (1-4). Bruno Genesio, who arrived this summer with the new management, must also contend with injuries to Derek Cornelius and Amine Gouiri during the international break.

Deprived of reinforcements during the summer transfer window due to DNCG restrictions, the Marseille coach has limited room for maneuver to turn things around on the pitch. The potential return of Adidas in 2027 therefore represents a financial lifeline, but the urgency is clearly on the field.
