Michael Olise wants to leave Bayern Munich to sign for Real Madrid, according to L’Équipe. At 24, the French international has reportedly decided in favor of the Spanish club despite a contract running until 2029 and an exceptional season in Bavaria.

Olise’s figures this season speak for themselves: 27 goals and 33 assists in 68 matches. Statistics that have definitively convinced Florentino Pérez, who was seduced by the former Crystal Palace player during the double confrontation between Real Madrid and Bayern in the Ligue des Champions round of 16.

On Bayern’s side, resistance is organizing. Dayot Upamecano, Olise’s teammate at club and international level, has become an unofficial lobbyist, multiplying sporting arguments to convince him to stay in Munich. To no avail: during the France squad gathering in Boston, Olise reportedly confided his desire to leave to those close to him and directly sounded out Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni about life in Madrid.

Olise’s arrival would also serve Mbappé’s interests. The France captain maintains excellent relations with him, and his creative profile would fill a gap identified at Real for two years. Olise could also shake up the internal hierarchy, to the detriment of Jude Bellingham, with whom Mbappé’s relations have become strained.

Bayern is currently showing absolute firmness on the matter. But Real Madrid is approaching negotiations from a position of strength: the club has already generated €138 million in sales this summer, notably through the transfers of Nico Paz and Victor Muñoz. To finance an operation valued between €200 and €250 million and ease the wage bill, a major sale remains possible. Vinicius Jr, whose contract expires in a year and whose salary demands for an extension are high, could be sacrificed. His departure would free up the necessary resources to close the Olise deal.
