Michael Olise is the most seriously discussed target for Real Madrid’s next major signing, after Florentino Perez promised a €150 million offer for a player described as “galactic” during the club’s presidential election on Sunday.

Spanish media had initially speculated about Vitinha before focusing on the Franco-British winger from Bayern Munich. In France, the story quickly gained traction, particularly on L’Équipe where journalist Hervé Penot took a clear stance.

“First of all, it’s the biggest club in the world along with FC Barcelona. So when you go to Real, you go somewhere, to an institution,” he said, arguing that Olise would make a mistake by ignoring potential interest from Madrid.

Penot also placed the situation in the Bavarian context. “Bayern, they’re sure to be champions next season. Of course, they might lack the European title, but they could also give it to Real, who have been looking for it for a few years.”

The journalist’s central argument hinges on the global dimension that the white shirt confers. “It’s an institution, practically the mother house of football. When you go anywhere in the world, there are two clubs that make everyone dream, it’s Barcelona and Real. So when you become an important player at Real, maybe you’re a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, maybe a player who will enter the hearts of pretty much the whole world.”

Penot finally invoked Olise’s personality, known for his interest in fashion and the lifestyle world, to strengthen his reasoning. “When you’re at Real, there’s a kind of media explosion around you. If Olise joins Real Madrid, suddenly he won’t be the same Olise who was at Bayern Munich. So, if I were him, I’d say: ‘Go for it’. Plus he’ll be in a great league and he’ll become a mega star.”

No official offer has been made so far, and the matter remains conditional on the outcome of Real Madrid’s presidential election.
