Jose Mourinho has sent Real Madrid a document detailing his transfer demands for the summer, requesting reinforcements across four to six positions, according to Diario AS. The submission comes ahead of his anticipated appointment as manager, which is expected to be formalised once the club’s presidential elections are resolved.

Florentino Perez, widely considered the overwhelming favourite to defeat Enrique Riquelme and retain the presidency, has been the driving force behind Mourinho’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu. One of the conditions the Portuguese manager set for his comeback was meaningful input in transfer decisions — a departure from the limited involvement afforded to most of his predecessors at the club.

The document Mourinho submitted does not name specific targets but identifies the positions he wants strengthened. He is seeking one or two full-backs, one or two centre-backs, and two central midfielders. His requirements in midfield are more defined: one defensively-minded player to compete with Aurélien Tchouaméni, and one creative central midfielder — a profile he believes the current squad lacks.

The scale of Real Madrid’s spending this summer remains an open question. Last summer the club invested around €160 million across four signings, an unusually active window by recent standards. High-profile arrivals such as Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé have come at significant cost, but it has been several years since Los Blancos sanctioned more than one marquee signing in a single transfer window. Whether Mourinho’s wish list of up to six players aligns with the club’s financial appetite will be one of the defining tensions of the off-season.
