Manchester United host City in September as 2026/27 derby dates confirmed
The Premier League fixture release has confirmed the two Manchester derby dates for 2026/27. United welcome City to Old Trafford on the weekend of September 12-13, with the return at the Etihad scheduled for March 20-21.
The 2026/27 Manchester derby schedule is set, with United hosting City at Old Trafford on the weekend of September 12-13 — just four games into the new Premier League season — before the return fixture at the Etihad on the weekend of March 20-21.
Both matches will be moved from the traditional 3pm Saturday slot to accommodate live television coverage, though specific broadcast windows beyond the opening weekend of the season are yet to be confirmed.
The fixtures carry added intrigue given the managerial changes on both sides. Enzo Maresca will take charge of City in his first Manchester derby following Pep Guardiola’s departure, while Michael Carrick enters the tie looking to extend his perfect record against the Blues.
Carrick’s debut as United manager last season produced a commanding 2-0 win over City at Old Trafford on January 17, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu capping a tactically disciplined performance. That result came after City had beaten Ruben Amorim’s United 3-0 in the first derby of the season in mid-September, with Erling Haaland scoring twice and Phil Foden adding the third.
2026/27 Manchester derby dates:
September 12/13: Manchester United vs Manchester City — Old Trafford
March 20/21: Manchester City vs Manchester United — Etihad Stadium
